What is the difference between a GPS tracker (GPS tracking device) and Alerta Patch & Wedge?

GPS locator(Alzheimer's tracker or elderly tracker) can be accurate in a specific environment where cellular speed is fast and has high-speed internet. But even if the internet speed or cellular speed is fast enough, there is always some delay because of data transition.

We know that a short moment is critical for a loved one who has a wandering issue caused by dementia or Alzheimer's in senior care, elderly care, or home care.

Our wearable monitor system uses radio technology and the alarm can sound immediately in an environment without internet connection and cellular service.

And GPS tracking device can be heavy for your loved one and needs a strap or waistband to hold the device. But Alerta patch is lightweight (0.3oz, 8g). And you just need to apply Alerta patch to the body of your loved one.

Does Alerta Patch & Wedge do continuous monitoring 24/7?

Yes. Our elderly monitoring system is designed for a person who has a wandering issue caused by dementia or Alzheimer's and for a caregiver who provides elderly care, companion care, dementia care, or Alzheimer's home care. When Alerta Patch and Alerta Wedge are paired, they do 24/7 monitoring.

Is Alerta patch safe for skin? Is it also waterproof?

Yes. Alerta Patch is safe for skin and also is lightweight & waterproof. Alerta patch uses 3M medical-grade foam tape and adhesives tested for long-term use. However, the patch may contribute to skin irritation for some users. Be sure the Patch placement area is clean and free of hair.

Also, Alerta Patch is water-resistant, so it's ok to bathe or shower.

How long does Alerta Patch last?

Alerta Patch lasts approximately one month with normal usage. We recommend changing the cover of the patch (brown material) after ten days. The cover is included in the kit or refills kit.

Pull off the brown cover from the white device. Then, peel off the adhesive backing from a new Patch cover and apply it to the center of the foam side of the device. The woven white side is exposed and is in contact with the skin.

What is this elderly monitoring system range?

Alerta Patch and Alerta Wedge communicate when they are up to 65 to 90 feet apart, depending on the environment. Beyond this distance, the Wedge will sound an alarm and flash.

Our products are perfect for a home that already has a room monitor for the elderly, but the monitor doesn't have alert alarm systems.

Alerta Patch & Wedge uses a radio band. Is the technology safe?

Yes. Our product complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules, and its operation is subject to two conditions:

Pairing Guide

Getting Started

1. Open the box and remove the tray.

2. Remove one Patch from the container, return container to the tray.

3. Remove the Wedge and place it next to the Patch.

Turning on the Patch

1. Locate the push-button on the front of the patch as indicated by the arrow.

2. Push and hold the button, until the red light flashes.

3. Watch the red light it will flash within 6 seconds of releasing the Patch pushbutton.

Turning on the Wedge

1. Press the Wedge RESET button from the top. The OUT OF RANGE indicator will flash.

2. Watch the Wedge SIGNAL indicator it will flash within six (6) seconds indicating that the Wedge and Patch are paired.

Applying the Patch to the Body (back)

1. Remove the covering from the adhesive lining on the perimeter of the underside of the Patch.

2. Place the Patch on the upperback in one of the shaded areas, alternating each week.
